In February, Whiner Beer Co released Candy Darling (All Oak Barrel-fermented, Barrel-aged Wild Ale with crazy plums), to much acclaim amongst Chicago’s beer scene. Personally, it ranks among my favorite beers of the year so far. Now they’re doing it again, this time with Ultraviolet, and I’m even more excited. I love all things blueberry and blueberry in beer (the few times I’ve had it utilized anyway), and Ultraviolet is a barrel-aged wild blueberry ale, fermented with Brett Brux Trois Vrai and aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for 10 months.
April 7th – 5PM – 2 Bottle Limit
No word yet if on draft in the tap room as well, or if there’s any Candy Darling left. Pretty Bird, Soup du Jour, and Sasha Fontaine were all on draft on Friday evening when I was down at the Tap Room. Fur Coat, their Belgian Dark, was on draft as well.
