Margarita 201 (fresh flavor additions!)

Let's do things in reverse today. I'll bet you have a standard margarita recipe you enjoy. And of course, I do too - I'll even post it soon! However...

Below are two riffs off my base recipe, using fresh produce. The philosophy so far that's worked is really simple - reduce the acidity and punch of the lime juice and put your "flavor" front and center as the second largest ingredient behind the tequila itself. The orange curacao's presence maintains both a familiarity (tying this to the actual margarita in recipe and in flavor) and the splash of simple keeps this from being too dry.

Cucumber Margarita 2 oz Blanco Tequila 1.5 oz freshly juiced Cucumber (I used an English cucumber and a Breville juicer, peeled first, but the peel will add a slight bitterness and more cucumber oils)

0.5 oz BroVo Curacao 0.5 oz fresh lime juice

0.25 oz simple syrup

Pineapple Margarita 2 oz Blanco Tequila

1 oz fresh Pineapple Juice 0.5 oz BroVo Curacao

0.5 oz fresh lime juice

0.25 oz simple syrup
