High carbonation beer, sparkling wines, crispy and bubbly cider - these things make for such nice afternoon and early evening sippers. Opened up this Middle Brow mixed fermentation sorghum while out in Scales Mound, near Galena. This is tight carbonation, hazy goldenrod color, and smells like lemon peel and hay. Summer day faded quickly into cooler night and this beer can bridge that change with it's bright citrus and grainy funk. There's melon too, and tropical fruit, and maybe just a hint of something herbal. Sub in for a heartier feel than white wine and would pair great with toasted bread, an assortment of cheese, pickles, and jams.
