Name: Satin Solitude
Brewery: Central Waters
Style: American Double/Imperial Stout
This is on a list of classic Imperial Stouts available year round that I need to make a feature of this blog reincarnation. This is specialty grains and a touch of hops wrapped up into crushable dark beer. I would sip it by a fire as suggested by the label. I could put on metal OR jazz for this beauty. I want BBQ, grilled meats, chocolate, sausage, cakes, and more. On my list of beer styles a local brewery needs to master is this category, and Central Waters has been doing it for a long time now. You want just enough dryness to keep drinking, enough roasted grain notes to feel like you're drinking something serious, and enough bitterness to keep you thirsty without subduing your tongue for the food you'll compliment it with; this beer does all of those things well. Bonus love for a normal ABV for the second decade of this 21st century.
